About
I’m Steven Imrich. I write practical nonfiction, 32 books so far, for people trying to solve a specific problem without wading through three hundred pages of throat-clearing first.
The subjects look unrelated until you notice the pattern. Trading platforms, perimenopause, ADHD systems, cooking for one, money after a layoff. What they share is a person who has a real problem, is getting bad information about it, and doesn’t have a spare weekend to sort out which advice is real.
So the rule for every book is the same. It has to work on a normal Tuesday for a busy person, or it doesn’t get published. That means specifics over theory, and it means saying plainly when something doesn’t work, which is why a couple of these books spend as much time on what to throw away as on what to keep.
Why the free answers
Most of what people search for is one specific question, not a book. Someone whose thinkorswim scan is returning nothing at 6am doesn’t want a purchase, they want the fix. So the answers on this site are the actual answers, in full, free, with no email wall. If the fuller version happens to be a book, there’s a card at the bottom saying so. That’s the whole arrangement.
How I research
For the trading books I read what experienced users say in the places they actually talk (Reddit, useThinkScript, futures forums) rather than what gets sold in a course. For the health books it’s the research literature plus what women describe in support communities, because the mechanism and the lived experience are both part of the answer. Sources go in the books.
A note on what this isn’t
Nothing here is financial advice or medical advice. The trading books are about software and process, not about what to buy. The health books explain mechanisms and practical options so you can have a better conversation with a clinician. They don’t replace one.
Elsewhere
I answer questions on Quora and post free tips on Pinterest and Medium. Everything I publish is on the books page.
